                                  Power For Salvation

Romans 1:16

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek."

It is only when we preach the gospel that the power of God is released to save the lost. Sadly many preachers are ashamed of the gospel. The word ashamed in the Greek means to (feel shame for something.) They feel ashamed of the Gospel so they start preaching self-help and positive sermons. They don’t want to offend anybody with the gospel. They allow their personal feelings to get in the way of the true message of God. And consequently some churches have a crowd, not a church. When they compromise the gospel by substituting it with feel good messages, they hinder the power of God to save people. The apostle Paul knew that there is power in the gospel of Christ to save the lost. Many Pastors wonder why they don’t sense the power of God in their sermons or why people aren’t getting saved in their church. They don’t understand that God is only obligated to release his power when we preach his Holy word, not our personal feelings.

Mark 16:20

"And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen."
